The New England Patriots have been active this offseason, making strategic moves to enhance their roster. The team signed unrestricted free agents safety Marcus Epps and wide receiver Mack Hollins, while re-signing veteran tight end Hooper to a one-year deal.
Additionally, the Patriots added defensive tackle Milton Williams to their roster. Epps joins the Patriots after three seasons with the Philadelphia Eagles, where he played in all 17 games last season, recording 94 tackles and six passes defended. His versatility and depth will strengthen the Patriots' secondary.
Hollins, coming off a breakout season with the Las Vegas Raiders, caught 56 passes for 690 yards and four touchdowns in 2021. He provides the Patriots with a big-bodied target who can stretch the field and make contested catches. Hooper's re-signing brings experience and reliability to the tight end position. In his first season with the Patriots in 2022, he caught 41 passes for 405 yards and three touchdowns, ensuring continuity in the team's passing game. Williams, who played in 17 games for the Eagles last season, recording 45 tackles and two sacks, adds depth to the Patriots' defensive line and should help generate more pressure on opposing quarterbacks.
These moves position the Patriots well for the upcoming season as they continue to build their roster.
